We tend to haul 6’ tables, ladders, EZUPs for my wife’s art fairs. Nice to close the tailgate (with a topper) so they don’t walk off.

Best cab configuration is the ACLB, however since they discontinued it, have to step to the DCLB since the DCSB won’t work for us. Does look a little out of proportion, rather have more practically than looks, spend way more time using it than I do standing outside looking at it.

Trying to rationalize the new XC, would miss those clam shell doors dearly however. Use them in my 3rd Gen multiple times a day.

Picked up the LB last night! Thanks for everyone’s insights.

side note - if you are looking for a truck in Washington let me know. Happy to hook you up with the dealer. Ended up right around 9% off sticker.

I also just reserved a long bed Premium OR. I actually use the bed daily. Id rather it was 2 seats 2 door and a 8’ bed but thats not an option. I also sleep in the back camping my Tundra has the 6.5’ bed and it was perfect for that. I am 6’3” . So in my last 6’ bed Taco i had to sleep a little diagonal.

For me the advantages of a LB greatly outweighed the maneuverability concern. Biggest pain to me is parking in tight spaces. This is rare and I manage. I offroad but not serious stuff. If I was planning to rock-crawl I would have gotten Short bed but that was not my intended purpose. Cargo and sleeping area way more important. Bikes, beach gear, etc.

I'm a DCLB who camps in the bed with a leer canopy. I've taken some off road and recovery classes that would have performed better with the shorter wheel base that the SB offers, and also had to back out of some offshoots of fire roads when looking for camping spots, because I couldn't turn around. In my opinion the SB is for people who want to take on more extreme terrain, or want a manual, or don't need the extra space that a LB provides.

Insurance declared my 2015 a total loss, and in a bittersweet moment, I’m now an owner of a 4th gen off road. It’s quite the upgrade.

Long bed is the no brainer. It's better to have the extra space and not need it than to need it and not have it. Why limit your options??

Looks way better too. Looks like a truck should look.

ive had two short beds but after having two long beds thats all i can have now days. but could never get a tacoma double cab long bed.. to me it ruins the point of a small truck. now access cab long bed? all day! full size truck long bed? all day again!

    Long bed All day !

Honestly all depends on your lifestyle, I feel like 85% of Tacoma owners don't truly use the truck as a "truck" or at least that what I see here in Los Angeles. In my situation I cant go with out a long bed.

I have a long bed, but I need it for my business and when she transforms into a camping taco :)

I use my 24 long bed daily as a truck. I tow with it and carry stuff in the bed.

I also had a long bed 3rd gen access cab. Which is what i wanted this time, but they only make work truck configurations so far .

The only drawback is the turning radius and parking in tight spots. It needs more room to turn than my Dbl cab Tundra. But it’s way more stable and comfortable on the freeway. The only other truck i wanted was a Raptor R because my Raptor had a short bed and it drove me crazy until i sold it. The back seats are tiny now if thats something you care about.

So, today I test drove an LB OR Taco followed immediately by a Tundra Crew cab regular bed and felt like the Tundra was more nimble??? Not nearly as nimble as my 3rd gen DCSB, but for some reason, the 4th gen Taco just felt bigger. I felt the Tundra was way easier to park lol.

I was weirdly impressed by the Tundy and now kind of want one lol.
