I’m hoping someone can help me out with this. I recently installed the Westcott Designs lift on my 2019 TRD pro shocks that I bought for my 23 TRD OR. After I installed them, I noticed that my UCA‘s were touching the coil at full droop. I thought it could’ve been because I did the lift with the top hat spacer, but I wasn’t sure. I called Westcott and talk to a few different people and I got a different answer each time. I was told to get it aligned and see if that helped, which it didn’t. Today I finally got a hold of the service manager and asked if this is a common issue and how can I fix it and he had said that most TRD pros touch at full droop even without their lift and with the lift. I had asked if removing the top hat spacer would eliminate this issue and he had said no.

I’m just so confused to hear that because why would Toyota put out a product that could have binding issues like this and why would westcott do this as well I talked to my buddy who is the service manager at my local Toyota dealership, and he had said he is unaware of the stock UCA’s Touching the coil at full group of the TRD pro shocks.

Is anyone else experiencing this or can someone point me in the right direction? Obviously aftermarket UCA could eliminate this problem, but I’m trying to keep it as stock as possible.

Scoring coil springs when they drag against steel is a great way to create a stress point and a fracture that grows from the surface damage.

Yeah I know that’s why I’m try to eliminate it. I just find it odd that it’s happening and I can’t find anyone else talking about it. Especially the Service manager at Westcott telling me this happens.

Westcott is lying to you. That's 100% from the spacer lift. The shocks limit droop and stop that from happening when you don't have a top plate spacer in.

I believe their website specifies that coils and UCA's can rub.
I saw it on the 22+ lift with red billet UCA. But if the UCA's are really no different than earlier Pro models I'd expect the same as well.

*Please note, on 2022 and newer models with the red TRD Upper Control Arms (UCA’s), your spring may make contact with the UCA at full droop (extension). This does not effect the performance or function of your suspension at all, just something to be aware of.*

    Hey man,
You have added a top hat spacer and a lower lift bracket so you have completely changed the way it is designed and actually could cause more issues with the shocks long term as well as I’d be surprised if the ride wasn’t compromised. I can’t speak to it rubbing without the lift but it’s never advised to combine 2 different lift options like this.
Take a look for a quick explanation of why this rubs.

So you added coil spacer and top hat spacer?
    Those are your issues.
