So a few of my family members have started playing Overwatch together on their Playstations. Sounds like they're having fun and I'd like to join in, but I know next to nothing about gaming consoles. Getting a Playstation seems to be difficult, but not impossible. I also have a 4 year old i7, 16Gb RAM, 256Gb SSD PC laptop. The cost of the Playstation isn't a deal breaker, but using a PC that is just sitting in a drawer sounds better.

So experts of TacomaWorld what's my best option?

xbox x seems to have the most games and ms has a super cheap game pass that has a huge collection of games. It's kind of like netflix but instead for games.

with crosplay you should be able to play with pc, ps5, xbox etc...

I don't know anything about overwatch but I like to battlefield a lot. I don't like crossplay myself playing against pc players with mouse and keyboard just has to much of advantage plus some people have cheat software. TBH I miss my old PS3 without crossplay.

We need the Laptop model # on the back. It likely can handle it, but the graphics card integrated really matters.

PS4 is all you need for overwatch and they are everywhere cheap, and its easier to match up on the same platform.

I got PS5 some time ago, and I'm satisfied with it.
I had xbox before, but there were some issues with it, so I decided to get something new. But still, most often, I play on my PC because I don't have a lot of time, so I play some online games. Usually, it's poker or blackjack, sometimes slots. I have a lot of fun, and some time ago I came across this site https://online-casinocz.com/casino-bonus/bonusove-kody-casino/ which provided me some info about casinos and their bonuses. Each casino I read about was new to me, but after all I managed to choose a good one, and now I play only there.

In no way shape or form does using a controller ever feel as comfortable for me as using keyboard plus mouse for FPS. Given the choice I will always choose PC versus any console ever for that sole reason (as long as the games are available cross platform).

YMMV but that is the deciding factor for me.

I wrote a long response to this then realized the thread is ancient, OPs old laptop is now 6 years old.

My basic point was that PC is a better experience in general if you can front the upfront cost and you’re savvy enough to tinker with stuff, but playing online casually with console friends is a better experience if you’re also on a console

I'm still here, what gaming machine should I get? just kidding. I ended up buying a PS5. At the time Amazon had a thing where they'd offer you the chance to buy a PS5. It took a couple of tries, but I eventually snagged one.

Its been a minute since I got it, basically my 2022 christmas present to myself. I did pay extra for the DVD player because I'm old AF and thought there'd be games for sale.
