Can I replace my truck's stereo with a JBL stereo. Is it a simple swap or not?

Welcome! I'm sure that's been covered in the audio sub forum if you want to poke around there. The best way to find anything on tacomaworld is to use Google and add "tacomaworld" to the tail of your search, rather than use the built in search bar.

JBL and non-JBL radios are not interchangeable, JBL systems have an external amplifier and on non-JBL systems the amplifier is built into the radio.

I honestly don't know, but I have the premium JBL in my Tundra. It's the same as the Tacoma. It's not very good. Im presently shopping for an aftermarket version that will take its place.

It's worth it to shop for something else. It's an embarrassment that Toyota markets the JBL as premium sound. It most definitely is not.

Welcome to TW! If you replace the head unit don’t stop there, replace the speakers as well, Tacoma speakers are a joke.

Thanks for the info everyone. I had a 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport with a JBL and it was a better radio than what my 2019 has.
