    Hey All,

This is my first post aside the introductory.

I've been searching the interwebs for a Camper Shell deal.
I've been tossing the idea around to build a part time sleep system in the bed for car camping.

There is a good lead on a 2003 XtraCab ARE shell with the taller roof and a door hatch for sub $600...

    And I have a 2017 Access Cab.

Here's where I want to confirm if anyone else has tried before making the drive.
The dimensions match up almost exactly.

'03 Xtracab camper shell dimensions: 74.5" Long x 60.5" Wide
Meanwhile, my Access Cab is 73.5" Long x 60.5" Wide.

Last thread I checked said it was not possible, but the dimensions add up?
Will 1" make that much of a difference?

    Thanks In Advance

Not going to properly fit. You need to find a 3rd gen canopy. Even 2nd gens don't fit properly, and they are much closer to fitting than a 1st.

That honestly doesn’t sound like the dimensions to a first gen cap. Could it be a 2nd gen?

    here’s what a 1st gen cap looks like on a 2nd gen
