2nd Gen Tacoma roof rack removal

Good afternoon folks.

Does anyone know how to remove the rack on the second Gen Taco?

I have never done it before.
So I want to know if there are any hints/tips/tricks before I do so.

I want to do this in order to do a little clean up on the roof and clean all the dust that may accumulate.

 

Yeah, don’t do it. Why take the chance that the reinstall leaks.

 

there should be some really obvious bolts up there to remove. but be warned, those bolts pass into the interior of the vehicle just above the headliner, and will need to be resealed upon reinstallation. and if any part of the sealing isn't done correctly, it means you'll get leaks and potential water damage within the cab of the truck.
