I have a 06 Tacoma that has been throwing a P0441 and a P0455 for about 2 months. Changed gas cap with OEM. Tested purge solenoid and replace a small cracked hose going to the purge solenoid.

Today I was filling up with gas and next thing I see gas pouring down from the top of the tank. It was over 16 gallons and I was at 1/8 tank. It’s not near the filler neck. I can’t really see where is coming from. It was toward the rear of the tank.

Anyone have a similar issue? Should I pull the bed off?

Im not sure if the overfill was related or not.

How did you know it was the canister? Did you get a smoke test

Driveshaft u joint went out cracking my canister, I replaced with used junkyard canister and got more codes than p0455, including p0441.

You need to get a mirror and determine the source of the fuel leak on top of the tank, that's almost certainly gona be your EVAP codes as well.

A smoke test would likely make the leak easier to find but do note that you have to cap off the vent line at the canister/leak detection pump to seal the EVAP system on Toyota.
