    Outstanding!
What spring rate did you settle on?

I've been running these with a 700lb coil, and am very pleased with on and off highway performance.

    Cheers

I do believe the 700lb spring rate is standard with these, do you know if you can add a metal bumper on these and still keep the same springs?
do you mind sharing some pictures with your elka set up?

I have a front bumper from Backwoods..."Hi-Lite Overland". It has a steel cradle for the winch and aluminum bumper...I'm running a Comeup 9.5S winch. The Elkas work a treat. The rears mate well with my Deaver stage 3 leaf springs.

I don't have any up close photos, but I have a recent shot when I slapped some Method 701's wrapped with 255/85/16 S/T Maxx (the rear is unladen in the photo, so it's sitting a bit high...when fully laden, it sits nice and level).

    Merry Christmas!IMG_3520.jpg

Keep in mind elkas spring rate is a little different. It seems 700lb Elka spring is more like a 650lb in other brands.

Just curious is this from personal experience? Or just stuff you heard on line?
I kinda find this hard to believe, maybe someone was just off about there vehicle or the armor they had on, I don't Find a high end shock from a company like Elka making 100lb mistake , You do know Elka makes parts for Toytec and Dirtking , your information from where ever you heard this is just funny

Their measurements are metric not imperial. Not sure if that is what the previous poster was referring to or not.

I do know that I had to go to a longer length after I put on a winch. There was just a bit too much preload for my liking.
    (Elka 2.5 DC)

    Cheers

Combo of reading talking to shops and personal. I had to swap out my Elka springs and put 650lb eibachs on and there was basically no difference in ride. Maybe the big difference is that the elkas are 13” vs the eibachs are 14”. 700lb spring is a pretty heavy spring. Truck needs to be fairly loaded to make use of it. My experience is most run 650lb.

This stage 1 deavers, I think 3/8 threads showing on the 650lb eibach and 285/75r17. Nothing under the Alucab.

When I added the winch, I had to screw the top collar down to regain the same amount of lift I had before, so I added a longer spring.

I believe I have add-a-leaf on the rear.

    Cheers

    Interesting experience...
The Elka 2.5 (non-resi.) came with 7/16'' of thread visible above the adjustment collar, and no additional adjust was needed when I installed my winch and bumper. It carries the weight very well. The ride is excellent in my opinion!

    Cheers

what brand of UCA did you go with?
I like Elevate suspension UCA but they cost $1399, so I think ill just go with Ironman 4x4 UCA cant go wrong with those .....

JBA Offroad, High-caster upper control arms (made in the USA) installed at the same time as the suspension.
Alignment went very smoothly... 0 degrees on toe and camber, and about 3.5 degrees of caster.

    Cheers

Always looking to modify! Check out my Instagram @TacoPandaTRD

I can attest to this. Elka spring weight measurements are not to other manufacturers standards. Their stock 700 lbs spring feels more like a 600 lbs spring.

The Elka spring works for a factory truck set between 2-2.5” lift but if you want 3” lift you’ll have to add more preload. Once you start to add weight, like bumpers, winch, skids and sliders. To maintain that same 2.5” lift preload grows significantly and if you want 3” lift your preload will pretty much be maxed out and you will have little to no down travel. I’ve gone down this road over the past 4.5 years of owning my truck with Elka 2.5 resi suspension.

I found the complete opposite. My first 2.0 set up was on their short 700's and it rode like a dump truck i swapped to their longer 650's and it rides like a dream now. The same followed after I swapped to 2.5 dsc fronts. Even with my stump bumper and winch the 650's are ample to maintain 2ish" of lift with an excellent ride quality.
I only made it 2 weeks with my 700lb coils.

    20240705_194455.jpg

Pre load difference from the short 700 to a long 650. No idea why they ship with that coil. Even our distributor here orders them in the long 650 configuration for stock.

That's neat. I've heard the new Dirt King 2.5's ride really nice out of the box.
