I like my Gen2 head unit. I would, however, like to add an amplifier and new speakers...

    Heyas TacomaWorld Audiophiles!

My head unit works fine, I like the buttons etc., I also really don't want to have a giant screen in the middle of my dash.

I would, however like more sound. Ideally, just an amplifier and new speakers. I'll probably want to place rear speakers at the same time. I have a 2015 Access cab, so the spaces for the speakers are there, but no speakers.

I popped around the forum a bit but could not find anyone who had done this.
Does anyone have any experience with just adding an amplifier and new speakers?
I know there are considerations with amplified output from the head unit, which is part of the question.

Any advice, recommendations, or info is appreciated!

You won’t find much in there about adding rear speakers, but those threads are easy enough to find. The amp is the main thing to research there. The kicker key is a popular go-to here for its ease of install, price, and performance.

you can obviously go as high-end as you want, but that is the most popular option for a budget upgrade
