Anyone extended the frame, put 6 doors on, made an 8 foot bed, stretch limo, any other crazy body mods like this to a Tacoma? Looking specifically for 3rd gen. Seen a couple 6 door Ford Excursions and F150s (see attached pictures) and thought, hey, there should be a Taco like that. Also hoping to one day mod my current double cab short bed into the first double cab long bed manual transmission with maybe a frame extension and looking for inspiration. Or do a custom cab to make the backseat rideable for a normal sized adult.

I think I drank too much eggnog, it’s not even Friday. I did remember to put my trash cans out though.

On a serious note Toyota should have freaking used like 6 inches of the front end that has nothing behind the bumper and gave that to the interior space. Especially the back seats…also tomorrow is Friday…

Right!!? Every time I open the hood I think the same thing. The exterior size is fine, they just super duper messed up the interior packaging. Like, this could’ve been twice as comfortable without growing the exterior outline at all (except for maybe the roofline) by rearranging where things were placed.

I like the Ford Centurion trucks everything from Broncos to Econolines stretched out with extra doors and other add ons. I don't know how well a Tacoma frame could handle extra length. There was the Tundrasine.

when I went from the 2015 to the 2017 taco I was like …wtf?!?! after sitting in the seat for the 1st time and not being able to see over the hood. So I get out of the truck and lift hood and again I was like wtf?!?!
With the xtra 6 inches under the hood and the hood scoop I feel like I’m driving a truck with breast implants.

Yes! Someone needs to do that but with a Tacoma! (Maybe a bit less luxury focused).
You’d think the Tacoma frame would handle it like any other frame. Just cut, add frame piece, bolt and/or weld together.

The Tacoma frame has a reputation for being flexy. It might work but who knows?

That's called a crumple zone. All new vehicles have it.

i mean sure. i once wanted to convert a convertible chrysler lebaron to rwd and install a v8 at one point.

but then i realized that a it'll take at least $40k just for the base work, and another $40k in special body work. and pouring $80k into a $3k vehicle is about as wise as investing in helium underwear.

The President of the baseball league my son plays in has a F-350 limo, fully decked out and lifted who knows how high. Wonder where all our sponsorship money is going….

I've seen this on my YouTube feed and thought...WTH?

This is a nonchalant answer...but so funny!

    Thanks for that!

Haha no worries, glad you like my stupid sense of humor. A lot of times I’m tempted to post stuff but I usually restrain my self.

Personally, I enjoy to watch seemingly straight forward issues devolve into total chaos…and other times I’ll offer something of value.

And yes, my trash cans did get picked up after the holiday.

    Have a great weekend!
