Merry Christmas Boosted Bros! Maybe your haul be plentiful and PSi build to double digits

@XPOTRPR Sorry to hear about the mishap. Not sure if they're still there, BUT there should have been a pair of lock plates that serve as washer and holds the turbo together to the manifold. Most likely not, most "tuners" leave it off on aftermarket installs. It's not guaranteed to hold it but it's a bandaid.

I got kinda lost with the explanation..I would however put all the heater hoses back to stock orientation and fix the blocked off hose if you're going to run a standard heater core and plumb it to your engine. Upon some research I've saw some people.use the heater as a point to T off a coolant return but all other hoses and routing remained the same.

I've had an OEM sr20 turbo on a non turbo Nissan motor. I've never had a 22re and not sure if they had coolant supply on stock turbo but I assume it would be applicable. For the water to turbo supply, you may be able to tap the radiator line as you planned. I considered the same and ended up using the plug via the access/drain port on the side of the block. For return, I tapped the metal thermostat housing for a coolant line..I have had to braze on an -AN fitting to thermostat housing before. It's been too long but I'm 99% sure. As long as you have coolant in there, it's doing the the job of heat exchange. Hopefully that helps. I didn't mess with any extra T unions and tried to keep the cooling simple. Sorry I would provide pictures but it's been 20 years since I did that swap.

I appreciate the input. Yeah it's hard to explain just due to so many aftermarket parts + the modification of the factory components. I think I have it sorted out.. I just wanted to confirm the water feed location I was going to splice in would be ok. I have all the parts listed out, just need to gather everything. This will put it back to OEM setup.

I love you Jake.. thank you so much for posting this! It's all I needed to be able to understand what was changed and how its intended. Now its reassurance. This part right here is what I suspected was replaced, but could not find much if any info on it.. or a solution for when it fails.. as most of the posts that were even remotely close had broken picture links.

    Screenshot 2024-12-26 091559.png

Here's my plan/diagram.. and parts list from LCE and AutoZone..

Green is water. Coming from the piece that was replaced. I plan to splice in a T Union with a 3/8 barb to feed the turbo... Then back to the factory return at the radiator. Red is heater core return. I plan to run it back to factory location at timing cover/water pump.

Well, I’m still waiting on the VT Supercharger to ship. But it looks like I caught a break buying before their price hike. Not sure why they think it’s a good idea to price their unknown kit the same as more established competition. I know the only reason I am giving it a try is because it was $2k less. I know they recently updated it, but at least in the US Toyota market, there doesn’t seem to be widespread use, I’d have kept the price lower until there were a few more users. But I don’t have a business degree so….

Yeah, for the most part. Just waiting on enough funds to fix all the issues popping up quicker than I can fix them on my 20 year old truck. :frusty:

    Didn't you recently move?

    I’m on the same schedule.
Tried to save the last bit for a home this past year, Tacoma decided to take a few $k over that time and then first week of the new year the “reliable daily ‘97 4Runner with 300k miles” decided to need a new engine.

closing costs & savings = gone lmao.

I hear you on that. I did recently move! I am now in Georgia. I tried to take care of as much as I could on the truck before the move. I started a new job and it has been kicking my butt but the only issue I did have to address was a new windshield. We got snow and the day before work I was like hmm I should melt this ice off my windshield. I think you know what happened next lol
