Have had this 2015 Tacoma 2WD AC for about 6 months now. As soon as it started raining, the brakes started squealing pretty loud & consistently. I did the front brakes on my Scion xB a few times, so after a few YT vids on Tacoma brakes, I jacked up the Taco today to take a look at what's going on. I got the calipers off and looked at the pads and they've got plenty of life left, so my hope is that I could just take the pads out, get a little anti-squeak grease in there and re-install (maybe replacing the clips while I'm in there?). So, two questions:
    1. Why do I have 5-lug instead of 6-lug?
    2. Every video I watched on Tacoma brakes was about the calipers w/ the M-shaped clip, so why do I have what appear to be OEM Advics? And, just for some confidence, I'd love to find a video where someone shows how these come apart and go back together

You have a 5 lug because that's what you bought

In your model year 6 lugs are either 4wd or 2wd prerunners, meaning they are just missing the front drive components

Our 5 lugs have a very different suspension and braking set up. You have to be quite careful when parts shopping to get the right bits

We have a whole 5 lug forum. Time there might be helpful to you.

It's common for the rear drums to have some squeak, so be sure to service those properly.

Thanks, guess 5-lug is my new home here, then. Thank you.

The 5-lug calipers are assembled very similarly to your Scion's and most other Toyota cars.
