I have this 2002 TRD off-road with 80K original miles. She is a five speed manual with a new steering rack, recent timing belt and water pump change, OME suspension, new brakes and tires. The paint is in rough condition, needs new headlights and bumpers but the frame is in surprisingly good condition. I want to either completely rebuild her or put her up for sale. Just not sure what the truck would be worth, i’m already 11K into this truck. I’m not sure if I want spend the extra $$$ to get the entire body and frame restored so I guess I figured to ask, how much could I realistically expect to sell her for in her current condition. $9k on the upper limit. ???
Probably closer to $7k with paint and body work needed.

    That’s a rough figure.
And based of nothing but my opinion and limited knowledge of current 1st gen prices.

That makes two of us with very limited knowledge of current 1st GEN prices.

One of the biggest silent killers of these trucks is rust. The least rust in an east coast frame the better the resale. If yours is low/minimal in the key spots there should higher end resale

It's worth what you can get. :D Mine is much like yours, an 03 ext cab, 86K, same, electric windows/mirrors, good frame, rebuilt everything that needed it (suspension etc.) and your paint doesn't look that rough. A manual 4x4 (probably has diff lock too) could go for 14-25K depending. I've seen asking as much as 32K for low mileage, pristine condition first gens.

Tires, wheels, lifts, custom this or that, or add-ons don't add value to a vehicle. I keep mine all stock for this very reason. The only way you'll get close to an answer is to start with the blue book price (it will be way low, due to age) and look at asking prices of similar trucks somewhere like Bring a Trailer and local used dealers.

Wife has specific instructions to bury me in it, I'll never sell it. :D

Great way to put it. BringATrailer.com can will give a great idea.

I don't think a dead man in the truck won't sell well anyway.

Wife's a redhead and I'm too mouthy, there's no guarantee I'll be dead at the time of burial. :p

If it's got typical Mid atlantic rust, it won't do anything on BaT. Don't even look at those numbers as comps.

    Is your rear bumper perforated?

The condition of the frame and the paint will have the most impact on the price. Show us the bad and then we'll be able to get you a better estimate which is currently between $4,000 - $20,000 lol.

I bought the same truck, 1 year older than yours and double the miles for $8500 eight years ago. I found 5 speeds xtra cab went for a premium... and that was a requirement for me. Frame sounds similar to mine also... Not perfect by any means, but a survivor original NJ frame which is also hard to find in the northeast. Not sure how beat your paint is... but looks like a $12k+ truck if it is as overall presentable as the drivers side photo you shared.
