A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Just curious if anyone has ever succeeded in winning a truck at a fair price. I've been watching auctions for awhile trying to find good donor trucks. I've even driven down to Denver to inspect them. But no matter what I get out bid by usually a foreigner. Are they really paying those closing prices on trucks they haven't seen?

I'm looking for roughly an 80 90s and now my wife has decided to build an 85 solid front axel 4runner.... so getting trucks cheap as donors is obviously key... The auction sites tack on 1100 to the sale price so you can see how even a "donor truck" can get pricy fast.

I give you exhibit A. Its already too expensive + fees (1100) to be a doner and the auction sale price will be far far higher then this prebid.

Occasionally you will see a truck that's been rear-ended so bad it's a complete loss. But most trucks that sell cheap have been flattened by a semi and there is not much worth buying.

I have only ordered parts so no bidding experience but have one of their yards a few miles from me but it carries mostly big rigs, buses and campers but they are constantly turning vehicles no and out

i'd be real careful doing anything with copart. the comments get wild. multiple people with multiple vehicles with the same title issues, where copart just doesn't un-brand the title until the people spend time within the jail system for mistakes that they have no control over.

You might check out Auctionzip.com. It's a compilation web site that list both in-person and online auctions nationwide and can be searched by Zip-code. You might find something useful there.

I bought a flood car through them about 5 years ago. auction ended at $800 and by the time i picked it up it was almost $2k. I didn't use their towing service and showed up w/ a trailer the morning it was due to be released to me and they still tacked on transport and storage. it took me hours on the phone to get it sorted out. Seemed their system was rigged to force certain charges on to the tickets. all said and done I got it down to $1400 which at that point I could have just bought a different nonflooded car. Nothing in their terms or agreements showed where I should have been on the hook for $600 on an $800 car, it read more like 2-300.
Locked in due to them requiring $1k upfront as a bidder assurance.
