CarTrimHome tailgate lights came in after the postal strike. Installation took more effort than expected. Build quality isn't as good as their map light I installed in September. Each light has 3 small wires soldered to a PCB with no strain relief, causing the solder joints to break. I had to resolder them, put heat shrink on the wires for protection, remove a bulb holder tang to avoid chafing, and add a zip tie for strain relief. End result is satisfactory - brighter than Meso's at half the price, and in stock: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0D9CPWXFZ/

    [IMG] [IMG]

Each light is selectable between white and red. Both colors are dimmable:

^Maybe after I install the Icon coilovers and Martec sliders next year...

The tailgate lights are a convenience thing to enhance grocery hauling

^Wow that OEM bracket is flimsy for a one-ton truck.

Some progress, as much as I would like to weld I am going to go with automotive adhesive that are used to glue modern vehicles to save on prep/time for floor repairs. The rust spots also self cleared for tubbing… I guess that’s a win?

Fun fact, this is how rear passenger floor heater operates in the ancient cruiser.

And this is evaporator for rear AC which has its own duct system independent from the front.

More parts for the 401 crawler: AVS P/N 23071 hood deflector arrived in a hilariously large box about a foot taller than the 4Runner. I bought it to replace the punctured OEM accessory hood deflector that came with the vehicle.

I ordered this from GBP Performance in Quebec on Dec 21 at $95. Now the same part is listed at $150, eight days later. That is 7% inflation per day, on par with inter-war Germany and early '90s Russia. :bananadead:

It’s not much but it’s honest work

Leafs spring mounts cut off the frame.

“New” springs getting cleaned up for a layer of paint. Have new energy bushings for these. Going with the 4+1 leafs out of a 2010 Chevy 2500hd. IMG_0427.jpg

I was too chicken to cut mine off. I can't believe you just cut your off leaf spring mounts.
What did you use to cut them off?

Yes but I still have my leaf spring mounts because I was genuinely nervous about removing them
