Was looking for some thoughts on a grinding job I did a couple weeks ago while installing a front end C4 skit plate. It was my first time cutting this close to a crucial point in the frame so I definitely wasn’t the best at doing it myself. And unfortunately went a little bit too deep on the bottom side of the rail cutting a little hole right in the front on the driver side. Was thinking about buying a Winch sometime soon but am anxious considering that if sometime I were to pull myself out of something, if that cut in the frame would weaken the frame enough for the front end to rip off because of that cut. Just curious to hear if I would be safe recovering even with that crack or if I should get it professionally welded before doing anything?

I don't know about ripping off, but I wouldn't load that member without a proper repair, wire wheel, and lick of paint.
