Back 2 months ago I took my 2016 Tacoma into the dealer for the leaking cab stoplight fix. It went south on me very quickly and long story short, it seems it had been leaking for quite some time. It was so bad they replaced the carpet, headliner and a bunch of other stuff I cant even recall. The next week as I'm crossing a rough RR track crossing, the tire low light came on. The monitor screen showed a line on all 4 with no pressure indications. I checked pressure and none were low. The next time I drove it , the monitor showed good pressures on all tires. The next time I hit the tracks, low light back on with 4 dashes on display. It has not recovered for this one and stays with warning light on and dashes on all tires on monitor display. Thinking back, I was wondering did the headliner/carpet replacement have anything to do with this? Did something not get plugged in good enough and came loose? Any ideas?

I had something similar on my 2019. What I did was follow the reset procedure exactly and then went out for a drive. It took about ten or so minutes of driving and then it came back on and has been fine ever since.

If that doesn't work, then you likely have a bad TPMS sensor.

I don't think that anything that the dealer did would have anything to do with that.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
If they are the original TPMS sensors, they are due for replacement. I believe a good tire store can scan them to see how the batteries are.

I have tried the reset several times to no avail. It does not perform as advertised when doing the reset. When holding the reset button I do not get the 3 blinks and the solid. It just keeps blinking. Yes, I thought the sensors may be end of life as they are original. I have some history with Toyota TPMS as I have had 2 4Runners and the batteries go out over time one tire at a time and never all at once. The way this failed was all at once and when going over the rough rail crossing. When researching on these forums I found one post with pictures that showed the receiver to be overhead above the headliner. I do know the dealer spent a great deal of time mitigating the mold in this truck. The post I found was on the previous generation of truck so I'm not sure where the receiver is for my 2016. Does anyone know for sure?
