I have a 2022 TRD Sport- access cab. I have upgraded the rear factor speakers and now I am looking for a little more base. I did a quick search of this forum but didn't find what I was looking for. Kickers 51HS10 has a 10 inch sub with a 180 watt amp built in. This unit is 9.8 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and3.25 inches high. I measured the open space under the drivers seat and it is around 3 1/8 to 3 1/4 inches high. Has anyone installed this sub under their drivers seat? It would be a tight fit. If not this unit, what sub will fit under the drivers seat? I don't mind if it sticks out of the back of the seat, nobody rides in the back anyway. Thanks for any help.

bgavin, thanks for responding, but my carpentry skills are very limited. I know an enclosure type sub is the way to go, but I was looking for a powered sub that would fit under the drivers seat and have installed by someone who knows what they doing- definitely not me!

    Instant Gratification has merit.
A powered sub means the installation of power and signal cables, opening the firewall or (worse) the under floor.
Give it a lot of thought before you leap.

Seasoned installers are well worth the expense.

I own a good number of RFR series Rockford drivers.
They are very well made, and designed to work in small sealed boxes.
I see no reason why the current Rockford drivers would be any different.
These utilize the "cabin gain" effect to deliver solid bass.

Could you please post a pic of your rear door panels. There are no grills in mine & I’d like to see how a newer truck finishes it off.

I’m running a JL shallow sub in a sealed box. MDF is what you want to work with. The materials density makes a Big difference.

What's the install like on this one? Plug and play with stock stereo?

Not an access cab but I have the taco tunes 10” sub in my 16 double cab and it’s very powerful. Only issue is the controller I have doesn’t always work and the sub sometimes surges putting itself to full volume in the middle of the song. Not sure why that is, I’ve checked the wiring and had it rewired once which fixed it for a bit but the issues seems to have come back.

Not plug and play but straightforward if you've ever installed an amp. Provide power and signal then run the wiring.
