They were drop in simple bulb replacement. I know that replacing the housing would be better, although funds weren't there at the time. I did go through 3 sets before finding ones I liked

Should of saved yourself the hassle and just done the H9 upgrade drop in led's don't work properly in our housings regardless of brand.

I'm going to make a career out of linking that thread.

It's great people spend the time and effort in researching the topic. There is no doubt a real science behind lighting. In reality It all comes down to what you can afford at the time and what solution you arrive at that meets your needs. To say LED do not work in the factory housing is simply false. They do in fact fit, power on, and are brighter than stock H11's Is the beam pattern the same? No, although it is adequate and serves the purpose. Those that say you have to achieve your goal a certain way and should never deviate from the norm or their opinion, need to realize there are many ways to obtain the same goal. The satisfaction of the end user is more important that pleasing others. It's just like blood pressure, we all have an end goal of being less than 140/90, although there are many medications that will help get you there, and not every combination works for everyone. It's OK to do something a little different to our trucks to reach our own end results and no need for others to say they are wrong when the results worked for the owner. Now if you see an obvious safety concern, by all means point it out. Playing with our trucks should be fun, not a popularity contest.

Have you read the thread linked above? I am sure you have not.
Science does not support any of your statement. Drop in LED bulbs fit, they do not work in factory housing. You share the road with other drivers, so solution needs to satisfy owner AND other drivers.

PS H11 to H9 swap is the CHEAPEST way to improve Taco headlights. And it keeps the beam pattern the same. And it does not create glare for other drivers.

The safety concern is that plug n play LEDs produce dangerous amounts of glare for other drivers when used in housings designed for halogen bulbs. All LED bulbs are designated as “off road use only” and illegal to put in halogen housings for public roads, regardless of whether or not the manufacturer labels them as such.
As detailed in the lighting thread, these bulbs produce tons of foreground light which tricks the eye. They don’t have any throw because the reflector or projector was designed for a pencil lead sized filament that produces 360 degrees of light.
You won’t notice any issue if you drive under street lights constantly, but the moment you’re doing 60+ on a pitch black highway, you will quickly see that you are outrunning even your high beams with LEDs in them

I bought the brightest cheap Amazon LED bulbs I could find and have to say I’ve been very impressed. Sharp cutoff and much better lighting both distance and width. Before with the halogen bulbs, my LED fog lights were brighter than my headlights which was pitiful. Now looking to upgrade the housings to a different style but for sub $50 can’t go wrong with upgrading the bulbs.

Go follow the link I posted earlier and you will find that your observations are factually wrong. And there are far better options for the same cost if not less.
I did the experiment on hid, led, halogen and I'm back to the halogen h9 upgrade. It truly out performs led drop ins.
I went as far as trying an h9 led and the glare was so bad i would of had to re aimed the lights to justify them being on the road at all.

Drop in led's and halogen projectors simply do not play nice. And at the end of the day you are worse off.

If your fog lights are over powering your headlights they have way to much uplight or are poorly aimed causing major glare to oncoming traffic.

One day this won't be a topic of debate on here.
