    Hey Folks,

Thought I'd share my experience with ToyotaPartsDeal.com.
Feel free to tell me that I'm the jerk here, it is what it is...

I ordered 2 Lift Spacers and only received 1. I called Customer Service to request a replacement. They wouldn't issue the replacement without a RMA Request (not sure what that means). I submitted the RMA Request and specifically requested a replacement not a refund. They're sending me a refund.

Not a big deal, I can just re-order the part and get a new one with the money from the refund.
Well not exactly... since they don't refund shipping costs. I'm having to pay $15 shipping a second time for an $8 part.

Just a heads up, in case you order here. They answer quickly, but it might not be the answer you want.

    Kind Regards,
    DenimDan

I have used ToyotaPartsDeal many times without issue. TPD isn't a dealer or tied to any specific dealer. They don't keep inventory on hand but just act as the middle man processing orders between the customer and the dealer because most dealers won't ship to far away customers directly for some reason. In return they get a small cut of the profits.

RMA is a Return Merchandise Authorization. Probably just paper shuffling to cover the refund. Why they didn't just send you a new one, who knows?

An RMA is used so that customers don't just ship stuff back to the retailer without a valid reason. Because, yes, there are some really dumb people who would just ship something back and expect a refund without ever talking to the company.

@denimdan73 - Did you call CS and tell them they fulfilled your order incorrectly? If you called them and specifically asked for a replacement then you started things off on the wrong path that led you to the extra shipping charges.

You needed to let them know they messed up your order, at which point it is on them to correct it on their dime.

Yup! Told them exactly what happened. Ordered 2, received 1, I’d like the 2nd please. The CSR said replacement, so I agreed. Then they sent me an email saying they were refunding it instead. Not a big deal, but I asked for a part and am now paying for shipping for their mistake.

Ironically, the USPS says that they delivered a package to my front door or porch this afternoon, however it is no where to be found. I've asked the vendor to initiate a trace to see if they can find out where it actually went. I haven't asked for a refund... yet.

That could be. Originally, this package was supposed to be here next Monday, so I was surprised it got here so fast.

The company replied that I should go to the PO and see if they can ask the carrier where he left it. I will, but also asked them to file a claim and request a trace. I'll see what they say.

I'm having a ridiculous issue with toyotapartsdeal.com at the moment. I ordered about a dozen parts, to include left and right side brackets for a radio swap. One of the brackets they sent is wrong, first part of the serial number is correct so I see where the mistake was made. I submit RMA and provide pics of unopened package, which by chance has their paperwork between them and their distributor stapled to it so there's full history there for them to figure out who made the mistake. They then request a pic of the shipping label on the shipping box. I recycled the box already so that's an impossible task. They won't accept it back or send me the correct bracket. what!?! I called and inquired why they want to see that, I've never had to do that before. I was told they believe some people try to cash in on parts that other sellers won't accept back, for whatever reason. OK? If I produced that it still wouldn't prove/disprove anything. They know they sent me a box, I started the RMA the same day I received the package. I can't trust their practices after this (which isn't listed in their policies section, I looked). This was a $20 part, what if this happened over a $500 part? I have 8 pages worth of past orders worth thousands, never had a problem with me. I paid with PayPal and opened a claim, their response was the same. Ridiculous.

    edit:
I just opened my own thread, got to get this news out to people
