Crank no start after shorted O2 sensor

    ‘97 Tacoma 3.4L auto 4x4

    I know just enough electrical stuff to be dangerous. Was trying to check voltages on the rear o2 sensor with the truck running but had the multimeter set for current. I shorted out two wires and the engine died, now I get a crank no start and the OBD2 port isn’t communicating with the scan tool. Checked all the fuses I know of (the panel under the hood and the one on the cab) and all test good. Did I mess up my ECM or something?
    Desperately need help, need to move the truck asap…

    More than likely fried the PCM... take the PCM out and take her apart and look for and obvious damage. You have nothing to lose at this point.

    Double check the EFI fuse. Hope you cooked it, otherwise ya you might have killed your ECU, though it should have protection for that built in
