Black DTM ftw! Clean it and paint it. Can roll it on for a little texture and touches up easy.

Come throw axes, I’ll bring you everything you need.

Don’t work too hard at painting sliders or armor. You’re going to beat the shit out of it and step on it. Keep it simple and touching it up is easy. When it’s easy you’ll do it.

    Merry belated Christmas.

The past few days have been an absolute blur. I did get a bunch of Lego for Christmas I've been working through while watching the Die Hards in the background. Nice way to zone out and shut the brain off for a bit.

I am planning to build my truck as light as possible on 33s and meeting GVM seems impossible. I checked the following weights and even include removed all existing parts (crash bar, factory steps, factory skids, etc.
Aluminum winch mount, 9500lb winch with syn line (lightest option), aluminum sliders, aluminum skids, diamondback SE, 100lbs (tools, hunting gear, jumper cables, ARB compressor etc), increase weight from 5, 33s. With myself, wife, 6yr and booster seat, i have 85lbs remaining before exceeding the stickered GVM. If there were 4 (larger) guys, a cooler of beer, and camp chairs, one could easily exceed GVM on a stock truck.

Doing an electrical revamp. It was such a PITA to install the fuse/relay box into the truck. If I ever need to add circuits to it, it will be a chore.
Anyone using this to control accessories?: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RRYPRDH?smid=A28LSN5QPAAAAL&th=1

I'll be ordering it on Friday along with a couple more items.

Myself and John use a similar one, i think it's called twilight (the brand). Same idea, was a bit cheaper. I think Jared has an auxbeam, not sure. But same idea.

Very much like it. I have the 8 gang even though I only have 2 lights on there. One button goes back to the unit for dimming, one is used for the radio (do not recommend but it was easy for a quick trip need and hasn't been priority to fix, do handheld or straight to the battery).

I'm getting the standard blue backlight (no RGB, no phone app, no wireless), it will match my Midland GMRS mic.
I already have a spot planned for the switch panel and the control box.

Oh that's similar to what I have. I have a blue backlight i think. Or green. If I'm honest I can't remember :) but not RGB and no wifi or Bluetooth or any of that nonsense. I'm with you there.

8 is the way to go though. I got an 8 gang with only two circuits planned (ditch and rear chase). Then i used 3 more. Now down to 4. But it's only (random number) 20$ more for 8 vs 4, so might as well.

    Happy New Year.

Got more of the truck ripped apart yesterday.

Had some ideas pop into my head as I was doing it. Wrote them down (bought a little note book in the dollar store).
I'm going to reroute the GMRS antenna cable once my grommet arrives (ordered it yesterday).
I'll run the wire for the Auxbeam's ACC signal and the wire for the fog light this Saturday.
