The F150 raptors can be had with no mark up as of 2024. But I’m not really interested in spending 90k otd and not being able to park it in my garage and most parking garages etc. it has a very limiting use factor for me due to where I live and how I would use it. It’s just too big (that’s what she said )

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
The Ranger Raptor has a V6 engine instead of an I4

Echo this. The 5.0 is a nice package.

And funny thing is, there are plenty of garages around where I live where my Tacoma can’t fit.

+1. Plenty including me still visits and contributes at forums about cars/trucks we used to own

I went from 18 years with Tacomas to a 2024 Ranger Raptor. Couldn't be happier. What questions are you looking to ask?

I'm still active here because my brother still has his 2014 DCSB and looking for a new pickup in 2025, so keeping up with 4G news.

    Quite a few.
    1. Have you had quality or build issues?
    2. Any electronics issues? Main ones I can find on the ranger forum.
    3. What’s your mpg?
    4. How do you like the 3.0/10 speed ? Most seem to love it.
    5. do you miss anything about the Tacoma ?
    6. How’s the ride quality and wind noise ?
    7. Any regrets ?
    8. Are the lights as good as the LEDs on the taco ?

I dunno about the Raptor specifically, but the Ranger Lariat I test drove last week has a ton more backseat room vs. the 4th or 3rd gen Tacoma. It's not close.

I test drove a 2.7 TTV6 Lariat last week and thought that that motor vs the turbo 4 in the 4th gen and the V6 in the 3rd gen was no comparison, Ford all the way. No doubt the 3.0 in the Raptor is even better.

I really like the Ranger I drove and probably would have been my choice. A raptor would be even better I guess lol.

    1. and 2. I've had zero issues since buying it in June. One piece of bumper trim that was a little warped, but the dealer replaced under warranty. Maybe I just put on the blinders, and hope this technically being a 3rd year design (Ranger T6.2 has been out since 2022 internationally) and the Ecoboost V6 3.0TT + 10R60 being a thing for years in the Explorer ST, means they've worked out or know of all the kinks.
    3. In city 14-15, freeway 18-19. That said, I only peek at mpg between fills to check as a symptom of underlying issues.
    4. The V6 feels and sounds great. I did the Ford Performance tune (by Livernois) which now gives 455 hp/536 lb-ft. The 10R60 transmission is less jerky than the 10R80, and the tune make it much smoother than stock, but like most I feel Ford should have stuck with 8 gears. Quiet exhaust mode makes it really quiet when you want, while sport/baja mode have a solid sport growl/purr. Pulls just as strongly as the Macan S we had, or my wife's current E450.
    5. I don't miss anything specific about the Tacoma. TW is a better overall forum than Ranger6G. Aftermarket is quick to develop and offer Tacoma stuff, but I have no desire to mod/change stuff like I always felt the need with a Tacoma. I might do a Cobb intercooler to reduce IAF temp for long-term reliability purpose.
[Edit] I DO miss what felt like endless internal storage spots in the Tacoma LOL!
    6. Even my wife says the RR is quieter and more comfortable than her E450.
    7. Zero regrets, but I'll be honest I'm fortunate and very comfortable, so chatter like resale value aren't a factor. The RR was also $10K less than a 4G TRD Pro/TH, and Lexus dealers said every GX550 were sold for the next year.
    8. The lights are very bright and I don't really study them beyond that. I keep the fog lights off because it's too bright with them on. They have adaptive headlights that turn with the wheel.

All-in-all, it's been a great truck. I was looking at the Shelter Green, but sort of ended up with a white one that matches my 991.2 T.

Thank you for taking the time and addressing every question I had. I would also be doing the ford perf tune I think … down the line.

Funny enough I was also looking at the GX550 but imo the interior looks too cheap and a defender just makes more sense at the price points most GX550 hit.

One final one being, did you order yours or did you just pick one from the lot?

Walked in on June 30th without plan to buy. Slow last day of quarter, slow month due to that massive software hack that happened, 3 RR on the lot = motivated to make a few more sales

I tend to keep my Tacoma's for some thing around 300 thousand miles so maybe that's why I don't want one.

Yea that’s a lot of miles to be putting on anything with a turbo
