2017 TRD OFF ROAD VS SR5

Thanks for the offer. I found out the previous owner put PRO Shocks on it. I am not familiar with lift kits or shocks in general, but asked for pics. Here is what was sent. Not sure what I am looking at. Good or bad?

 

They definitely did NOT put TRD Pro shocks on that (it's a cheap block & spacer lift on stock shocks). Easy enough to get rid of that and put something decent on there, but make sure they don't try to pass any premium onto you for those because there are no Pro shocks there.
Also check everything over real good (CV boots, steering rack, ball joints) since it does look like the spacer lift has put quite a bit of angle on those parts. While you're on the test-drive, listen for any sort of bearing noise coming from the left-front area while in 2WD, but not in 4x4 (that is if you can get it onto a dirt road somewhere). Look up ECGS bushing for more info about this noise source (front differential needle bearing) and it's causes.

Looks like factory Off Road Shocks, not Pro.

 

As a note.
the passenger's side coil marking is SR5/Limited trim coil and does not match marking of OR coil.

 

TRD's have Dual climate controls

 

Mine doesn’t

 

Just sold my OE suspension and this what the 2017 TRd OR stuff looks like:



The rear shocks look different in the pics the dealer sent.

Not until 2021. My 2019 did not have it, but my 22 did.

 

My 2017 TRD Has it

Must be a Canada thing

 

My 2017 has it too, but it was part of the Premium and Tech Package.
