Just bought my first Tacoma today 2015 ….I was checking it out once I got it home and noticed a TRD plate covering the transmission. This was not listed as a TRD but I bought it because of the larger rims and higher ride height.
Wondering if this is an aftermarket thing or do they all have it? thanks!

People even put TRD bedside stickers on their non-TRD, just the previous owners preference.

Uhm does that raise your rate because it's a higher trim(value), or lower it because the added "safety" features?

Great question, I've a huge policy for my house and cars and a few other things my overall rates are pretty cheap. but probably helps that I've a super clean driving record overall. though, when they ran the VIN they asked all kinds of questions about the truck and trim level. thought mine had a visual done due to wheels tires, bumper winch and suspension etc.

I have heard of that. When we bought my wife’s FJ I remember trying to make sure it was a TRD. It was! I can’t remember how I found out
