Is it only the one screw to remove the plastic around the column? I’m upgrading my wiper switch

Should be a total of (3) Screws.

2 requiring to turn the steering wheel Left and Right 90* to gain access. This holds the two plastic halves together and the upper section to the steering column.
And 1 smaller screw underneath the lower section that holds it to the steering column. After that, just a plastic pry tool to separate.
