Not all shops will do any of that work. They'll just toss the stuff you request on and that's that. They won't care how bad stuff rubs when you turn the wheel or the suspension is compressed. Only a legitimate offroad shop would be doing cutting/trimming/ etc. And they would probably be charging a couple hundred bucks an hour for a day to do it. They're out there, and they'll do it, and it'll come out awesome, but you'll pay out the ass for it, which is cool if you have the coin!!

I think most people weld a plate over the hole they cut in their cab mount.

^this. I had all of my clearancing done by a reputable shop that I had seen tons of good work from. I have seen jobs done by any Joe shmoe with a grinder and a welder and if you care at all find someone familiar with the process. Especially since your best bet is in a relocate not a chop plus all the fender liner work and flare trimming.

    Why not 37s?

I think the only mod you need to make these work is roof racks!

Can't find a better pic... I know I have one somewhere. Friend of mine has 37s.

You're gunna want 5.29 gearing and a mod to make your speedometer accurate again after the 35s go on.

If you're not using these big tires to climb over obstacles off road, this is a huge waste of time and money and will just lead you down a constant rabbit hole of other parts wearing out sooner.

    Have fun.

285's are a solid choice. My truck performed well when I was on that size. Less headache as well

I think 37's are too much on the Ford Raptors. I can't imagine the need for 37's on a Tacoma.

heres my truck. -38 offset and 35x12.5s. also a pic comparing it to 285s and -12 offset. buy the c4 fabrication big tire fit kit. comes with cab mount relocate, high clearance inner fenders, and a cut template to cut your fender flares (i cut significantly more than the template). youl still need to do some major hammering to rear inner fenders to clear tires.

Pretty sure they were unloading that at Mule last time I was there (last year at an open house I think?). Had just busted an axle or something on a BDR trip or something. Cool rig for sure, but I think a bit overkill on those tires. Those poor axles, haha.

I went a size up last summer and felt right away the effect of larger tires (only 5 lbs heavier) on dynamics&mpg. ..And I'm tuned.

Well, nobody has mentioned it yet. (Original typo 35") (Should have said 33") skinny will work without any parts at all, just a good alignment for clearance. See the mega threads on these sizes.

That of course is correct, the OP stated in his post #15 he could reconsider his plan with 33". I guess I should have quoted him, see below.
