AC Drain mod needed on 4th Gen?

Bruh, this is what my truck sits in for 3 months each year, and I am still telling you the A/C drain extension is a waste of time. You question was "AC Drain mod needed on 4th Gen". I'm telling you it isn't needed on any gen.

 

I can take a picture in the morning after sunrise.

 

And you have no idea how much humidity there is in other parts of the country apparently

Florida runs AC year round
90%+ humidity for 6+ months of the year means a shit ton of water coming out that hose. Why have that part of the frame be the only rusty part?

 

^If by "rusty" you mean at best some orange stain that wipes off with a scotchbrite pad. No road salt or seawater - no rust of any consequence.

FYI I have A/C engaged year-round as well, including in the winter for defogging purposes.

 

Your acceptable tolerance for rust might be different than someone else’s. If they want to spend $7 preventing it, who cares?

 

^The original question was on "need". People add unnecessary stuff to trucks all the time and that's fine. I mean, there's a whole "ecosystem" of raptor light vendors...

 

And people’s “needs” are a reflection of their desires. You don’t need most of the things you “need.”

Absolutely not needed. It’s a non-issue. But it drains under the passenger front door. Not even close to the frame anymore.

This is why I wish people would include location on their profiles. Ones perspective is affected by your environment. I can then read between the lines of posts made regarding any kind of weather impacted issue. Like paint, rust, leaking brake light etc.

 

Take them crash bars off those aren't needed.

I saw both of those things. I just read posts that were discussing the "need" for the drain mod. I actually think the crash bars should stay. Worse part of all of this after I posted, I realized I couldn't see the crash bar that is removable, only the portion of the frame the CB would bolt to. I posted that before 8am nothing I say before 8am is going to make much sense.

 

Where is the drain for the sunroof?
