I'm 15k in parts into an entry level long travel setup. The word budget had to be moved to other parts of my life to make this build happen.

    I thought to myself.
No no, I read that wrong… I can’t be understanding this correctly.
Clicked on @SoonToBeOn39s link and .

Honestly if it fit the 96-02 platform and he’d give me a set for the cost of materials I’d run it on the 4Runner when I get a new motor in that just for shits and giggles

I used to think that until I really started looking at the people I was trying to keep up with. The old land rovers were the only guys with a similar width to me, and they were really struggling on the aggressive stuff. Everyone else, (primarily solid axles, minus an LT Tacoma here and there) was significantly wider than me, and didn't have any problems fitting down trails.
I'm specifically referencing trips to Rausch Creek, GW National Forrest, and The Cove/Big Dogs. Stuff in your neck of the woods.

he's only a state up from you, but the VA/PA stuff is certainly a bit narrower than what we have down here. LT is still definitely worth the width though.

14 year old photos, but they're from two of the best crawling locations on the east coast.

    The Cove, VA

    Rausch Creek, PA

of course there is also plenty of wide stuff too. same place in Virginia.

I've been to Rausch plenty of times. Years ago. Got tired of breaking stuff every weekend, so now Im just way overbuilt (bypassed MT) to go camping on fire roads

No joke. Pretty well maxed with extended travel coilovers on a mid travel.

Because I'm too broke and impatient to get the parts I want. What do you guys think of a rubber bump stop like what the people with the JD sua kit have? Obviously it isn't a hydro but should I even spend money on a cheaper alternative

Nothing wrong with rubber. Just set up on the conservative side to be safe.

    This is very true.

They are poly. More than likely energy suspension.
