Yeh as far as I’m concerned the riding season doesn’t end down here for me. I really think I live in one of the best states for riding. We still have actual seasons sometimes, and some fun roads. About to get screwed with this winter system coming in though. Probably not much riding for the next couple weeks for me.

just a couple of things tbh
yup haha its good you didnt get to banged up and the bike was fixable!
overall mine sucked it was costly but at the same time i dont think id change the accident because of how it kinda helped after the accident and events during that time.
are you guys getting hit by this storm this weekend as well? we are suppose to get a good amount of ice and snow this weekend up in Mo.

I am living vicariously thru you guys. I didn't say anything about it, wasn't sure how it was gonna play out.
Bikes have been parked since early July due to some dumbass giving himself a double hernia. That was taken care of late October. Everything is high and tight again. Good recovery.
Get help with the heavy shit guys.
So needless to say, the mileage last summer wasn't enough to even need a chain adjustment.
But this coming summer, the miles are happening. :bikewheelie2:

Gotcha, not quite at that level yet to be chasing fractions of a second lol. Maybe i'll hold off until after my next track day to do as you suggested. As far as racing...i would love to get into it. I know it's expensive, and likely won't go anywhere past the amateur level but that's alright with me. But that's likely far off in the future...still plenty of room for improvement before I reach that level. I think this year I'll start running slicks once I finish off the tires on the two bikes. Probably 1-2 track days left on em.

nothing wrong with that, life gets in the way sometimes. I remember my dad had a double hernia when I was about 12-13, had to take care of him for a few weeks. Seemed like a nightmare to go through, glad your recovery is going well.

R6 on slicks is a cheat code to going fast ;-). I would definitely do a few days with actual instructor time before committing to the sbk school. There's lots of suuuuper fast dudes down there. The Carter's put on a decent event from what I've heard

I will also say, if you want to race then do it. No amount of classes or instruction will make you as fast faster than your first year at novice. From there would be the time to do csbk school. The fastest track day hero does not have the same experience as a racer who's pushing the limit juuuust enough to get around that next guy and get a podium. It's a completely different level of fast. Find an ex racer, they're usually super chill and full of knowledge, and since they aren't competing anymore usually very willing to share.

We had this dude, local super fast guy, was supposed to do AMA and go pro, had a kid and family and never "made it". He'd ride his supermoto around literbikes on one wheel drifting with the biggest shit eating grin. Was always happy to let anyone latch on and learn

Well I have been off for a while and the break has been nice. Anyway some have seen the GSXR 750 I bought. That bike is all set up to rip. So now so have a mini bike (monkey) dual sport (klx300) Sportbike gsxr750 and now a cruiser.
Acquired a new to me bike today to round out the stable. Found a super clean 1994 HD heritage nostalgia softail. They only made 2700 of these from 1993-1996. It’s have a 80ci EVO engine that is carbed and 5 speed trans , Had a few special bits on it that made it a nostalgia. 20,544 miles lots of chrome, Vance and Hines pipes, S&S carb and filter. Was told it has a cam upgrade but can unknown for now. Only needs tires so they are ordered. I did not get wide whitewall tires. Not my cup of tea. And a new windshield replacement because the one that’s on there is a bit cloudy. Hey it’s 30 years old!
Plans are so the tires and windshield. I need to remove the tank and clean out the old gas. Check the fuel lines, take off the carb and check to make sure that’s all clean and good, oil and filter, trans and primary oil change, brake fluid. I did ride about a mile on the test ride. Runs real good.

I definitely learned a lot from it. It cost me a few thousand to get it rebuilt, and still waiting on getting it re-titled. But I learned a lot about myself and riding through the experience.

our weather this weekend is just supposed to be really cold rain. Maybe some flurries. Next weekend though, we’re prolly looking at some significant snow it looks like.

Put around 35 miles on it today after leaving the shop with it. It’s a hoot for sure! Definitely see a lot of smiles in my future on it.

That’s the plan! Got a buddy who’s buying the KLX, so this one gets to become my DD and adventuring rig. Should fit the sweet spot to be exactly the platform I want to invest in and build off of!

If they ever FI that thing with a 6spd.......it'll sell like hotcakes. Same with the XR650L. I wish they threw a 6spd in the new DRZ....that would have been an almost unicorn for me. I loved my old DRZ.
