I want to get a Wolfbox (digital mirror) soon and had an idea.

Is it illegal (California, or anywhere I guess) to remove my stock mirror, and mount the Wolfbox on an accessory mount onto the dash?

The reason I ask is because I have to replace my windshield anyway, and thought it'd look cool on the dash.

    This and that
Slap a prop 65 warning sticker on there and you’re good.

I'd just look up whatever the mirror laws are in your area. You shouldn't have any issues. Lots of vehicles do not have rear view mirrors (they serve no purpose). They do have side view mirrors though.

Not a lawyer, but the law is typically two mirrors with the driver door being required. Zero reason to mandate a rear-view when cargo vans and box trucks exist.

Can't speak for California. The vehicle safety inspection manual for my jurisdiction says the rear view mirror may be missing if you got a side mirror on the right.

Thanks guys, I never thought about the whole camper / box van thing. I just thought it'd be cool to have that on the dash, then I'd have more window visibility and be unstoppable!
