$th Gen is not designed to be kept forever like 1st, 2nd & 3rd Gen. No fault of Toyota, just sign of the times.

More than I need but still not enough.
Sadly there isn’t but I’ll make sure to fill it up when/if we get some snow this winter

lol give me a break dude, everything about the 4th gen is beefed up to make it last longer then the prior gen’s. Name one thing that would prevent it from lasting as long…..don’t say turbo charger

That old saying comes to mind and applies here:

"If you have to ask how much: you can't afford it." :spending:

That is a freedom you have but I'm not sure there is any quality data to support your fears.

I'd be fool to make predictions for my 1/2 year old 5000 mi pickup that far away, but our legendary good 1999 4 cyl Toyota engine that did 200,000+ miles in 22 years was always a noisy engine compared to our other brand vehicles. In addition to the mechanical noise, the new era "Dynamic Force" family has the 2nd set of injectors that make more noise.

The new engine family started shipping in 2017 and variations of what the Tacoma has started shipping in 2021. So far there is just no decent evidence for this stuff being bad product in an industry traditional way of measuring. I know this from being in production and QC in an auto industry supplier. In addition, this is a high volume product. 170,000+ shipped by end of November.

Even if problems pop up we all have our warranties and a company known for standing behind the products.

Average doesn't mean 1/2 way smart. A life goal to beat means and medians is a good one, but it still means not achieving those makes a lot of people suffer.

Timing cover leak is an issue on the 4.0 too. The 3.5 inherited it from the 4.0...
