What's wrong with the current transmitter/receiver?

Wheels look good, think I might just have to grab them to match my incoming axles.

Put in my new esc and motor. A factory ascent18 has the esc and rx built into one unit. Furitek sells a rx that will work with the stock tx but I figure I'll just spend money and get a flysky and a couple of micro recievers

Shoot I forgot about that. I'm so used to running separates that I forgot many RTR's are all-in-one

I haven't settled on a transmitter/receiver and I'm really stuck on what to buy. My build is a budget build, so I don't want to go spending $300-400 on another Futaba like I did before.

I might even buy a Spektrum receiver to pair with one of my existing transmitters :crapstorm:

I bought a flysky gt5 and got the micro recievers off of ebay. Just impatiently waiting lol. It comes with a 6 ch rx but looks a bit bulky

Not overly expensive but not necessarily a cheapo either....I hope. Had good reviews. Exactly the reason I got a couple micro rx. Use the same tx on my ascent and the comp build if I choose to

have 2 of these and 2 of the micro motors with various furitek esc’s. I prefer the larger motor as it seems a little smoother than the smaller diameter motor. Most of my 1/24’s are fairly heavy so the weight saving of the micro motor isn’t really noticeable.

Hey, that's positive feedback so I'll take it!

Holidays are really gonna slow down all my parts getting to me. My chassis hasn't even shipped yet :bananadead:

Half the fun is the tinkering and chassis setup.

I got myself a FCX18 LC over Christmas to play with the kids new R/C’s. It’s been pretty awesome. I was wondering if there’s a way to make the headlights and roof lights stay on after initially turning the truck on.

Currently torn between a couple of different chassis with Mazz being on top in the mix. Any particular reason you went with the xl? I'm highly considering the non xl version with gladiator links.

Try hitting the "bind" button one time after it's powered up. The older ones used that to turn the lights on.

The driveshafts were getting stretched out to the point that 2-3mm of insertion seemed a bit short. There just isn't any options for aftermarket to fit the compression/extension needed without a bind. After tweaking the rods a bit more to get the steering knuckles vertical, I ended up with close to 98mm of wheelbase...
I remembered the TT came with an extra shaft, and it was longer.

This is with the shafts at full ext. length on the buggy.

So I swiped the shaft off the TT and used that and the extra on the buggy, took out a load of slop as well.

Apparently I found a better camera setting too, so win on that.
And the TT, with the extended shaft motor, fits like it did when it was stock with a short shaft. Or pretty close to it.

    also, added a floor jack.

for changing out Toyota lower ball joints.

    Poser shot.

Sorry for the long post. :anonymous: Coffee has taken over
I'm not familiar with the 18, but it should be on the transmitter. The instructions should tell you how to turn them on, it's no fun with them off.:)

I finally posted the RDX up on FB and sold it within 30 min. I might have priced it a little low. :p

    Ooooh you got bit

I went XL because it'd be easier for a novice like me to mount shit and keep it low to the ground.

Once links are back in stock, I'll be ordering their links for a gladiator wheelbase.

Tires and driveshaft should arrive Monday, as well as the motor.

@Strictlytoyz speaking of, my body just arrived

    20250104_093208.jpg

I'll be getting a different body style later after I figure this one out

Also bought some techflex I'll be using to wrap my wires with and keep things clean

I caved and finally (back) ordered a Micro-B. I found a retro body for it so I added that too. Going to get a Micro-T as well if it ever comes out.

Forget who it was in here that said they're almost gonna take apart one of their RC for parts

Took the fam to the park, and fortunately I took both my Typhon Grom and FCX18.

I had taken the springs off the FCX18 before leaving and since I haven't run it out at the park since changing the shock position, thought it'd be perfect to try out.

Performed better for sure as I was able to do some obstacles backwards even, until my rear lower link just popped off. Mind you, I haven't touched that bolt since I first installed my links so when I got home to screw it back into place, it spun freely. Damn skid plate is garbage if it stripped itself that easily.

I can buy a metal skid to replace it with, or just set it aside and use parts from it for a future project :playball:
