More than I need but still not enough.
First time Toyota owner and the Tacoma was an easy choice for me compared to the other offerings in the midsize market

Toyota could sell a million 4th gen’s and I still wouldn’t buy one. Im glad you 4th gen owners like yours it would suck to spend that much money not to like something you bought

Actually there have been a couple of lemons. And I’m sure people with transmission issues would consider that a dud moment.

I don't know your point from a combo of auto industry manufacturing (supplier) and in the autistic spectrum. It is a really big bummer that some have the TSB but from QC standards and stats, a few of nearly 200,000 with the TSB is good. It seems like people want what has been nearly impossible in the industry. My 1999 had a TSB where there were clutch failures. A higher percentage was impacted and the Internet didn't get such a chapped bottom over it.

Y'all dont need to justify your purchase w/Toyota sales figures. Its a fine truck and Tacomas will always sell well. Enjoy your rides fellas.

Lighten up. Clearly you haven’t been here long enough to remember all the 2nd gen trashing in the third gen forum after the 2016 release. It’s not likely to end anytime soon. Pace your hurt feelings if you plan to stick around a while. Just skip over what you don’t like. At the end of the day, I have no doubt, the 4th gen forum will be every bit as helpful and informative as the rest of the gens for the Tacoma owner.

Oh no hurt feelings here. I haven’t been here long, this is my first Tacoma and first Toyota. Been a member of many forums for other vehicles, just never before seen anything like this. So based on your comment I take it that it’s an issue with 3rd gen owners. You say they bashed the 2nd gen when it came out and now they are bashing the 4th gen. All I am saying is if you can contribute to any section of the forum then go for it, if you live in a section of the forum for a model you don’t have and only comment negatively on, maybe stop being bitter.

Sheesh… no. 2nd genners bashed the 3rd gen. Ever hear the term ‘turd gen’. Hardly complimentary, yet I haven’t lost any sleep over it. Anyway, I’ll bow out here. I’m just an insecure 3rd gen owner after all

Toyota will, in fact, sell a million 4th Gens.
    But go ahead, be salty.

Adjust for production ramp up (Jan-Mar) and it’s only a 5% decrease in sales volume. It’s still the highest sales of any year prior to 2017 and not bad considering the economy and terrible interest rates compared to what we all got used to in the last twenty years.

Then why are you here? Wouldn't that apply to every vehicle sold? A $45k 3rd Gen or a $45k 4th Gen are the same price.

Are you one of those Internet troll things I've heard so much about?

Yukon 5.29 gears, Eaton ELocker, Stoptech 6 Piston front BBK + Stoptech 4 Piston rear BBK conversion (Tundra master cylinder upgrade), 315/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W, Advan RG-D2 17x8.5 wheels (Indigo Blue), Fox 2.5 PE mid travel w/DSC adjust, Icon RXT leaf pack, DRT shackle hangers w/crossbar, BTF high caster LCA, SPC UCA, OVTune 5.29 (87 regular tune), C4 Hybrid front bumper (30" Rigid light bar + 3" pods), C4 Rock Runner HC rear bumper (Baja Designs S1 wide cornering reverse lights), C4 oversized tire fender kit, Cali Raised trail rock sliders, Cali Raised Overland bed rack, Cali Raised bed stiffeners, RCI engine/trans/tcase skids, CBI fuel tank skid, Prinsu cab rack, Borla Type-S exhaust, Morimoto XB LED head + tail lights.
I think I want to get a 4G DCSB and daily that, keep it mostly stock until warranty is done and keep the 3G DCLB as a camping/work/shuttle truck for mountain biking every week as the interior gets absolutely trashed with mud and I couldn't do that to a brand new $60k 4G (yet). The good thing is my bed rack, RTT, tires and other exterior accessories are all transferable to the 4G should I choose to use that for a different purpose later on. I regret selling my 2015 2.5G 6M SB and I do not want to make that mistake again and I'm too far invested in mods on the 3G (see mod list) to sell it at a loss (only 72k miles) so I'd rather drive it till the wheels fall off or give to kids one day. The 3G was cash and so will the 4G but do I NEED two trucks? My partner seems to think I don't need two trucks.:lalala:

I guess a better question would be, has anyone who went from 3G to 4G and wished you didn't or wished you had kept the 3G?? If I was to get the 4G it would be the TRD OR i-Force Max Prem w/SDM. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my 3G, never had a repair bill yet it's been super good to me but it's become less desirable to daily the more off-road mods it gets and with the fully loaded roof/bed rack and RTT I can no longer enter parkades as it is now well over 2 meters tall.
