IMG_9249.jpg IMG_9248.jpg Installed it. Somewhat easy procedure but I did break a couple of plastic clips (b*tch to try and pry off) from the port that is replaced with the uni-filter and the cover but the torx screw will keep it on there tight. The foam I removed was still in good shape. Now peace of mind it won’t deteriorate and get sucked in.

Did this on my 08 never had an issue with it. My filter was fine also but I did this to be safe I guess.
When it was T boned and totaled it was mentioned on insurance report.

What did it do for your insurance claim?

Nice! It looks like it works fine. I put my shroud back on, does it matter on or off?

If you need to pass any smog inspections, it may be noted as a modification to emissions systems. Keep all the OEM shroud and filter intake cap for inspection purposes. I broke a tab and bit of edge off my shroud, so it lives in a box until smog check required.
