Ever figure it out? If the Amp is 8 ohms why does everyone say you need 2 ohm speakers in the dash if the are wired in series with front doors that's only 4 ohms I've found just enough info to be thoroughly confused..

The jbl factory speakers are 2ohm.
In the jbl system, the tweeters and door woofers are not wired together like they are in the non-jbl trucks. The amp individually powers each of the 7 speakers, and has crossovers set in the amp as well.

And after buying amps and speakers and subs and now learning i need another 329 dollar device to use a second amp not even crutchfield was exactly straightforward with me about everything I had to buy to do this.. I've got cdt 6x9 subs in the doors and their 2 way 2" wideband in the dash and was going to put amp in this week and the sub but.. yeh the hard way it's kind of how I've always learned i guess

There is an upside knowing more about how the systems in your truck work, and that just unfortunately gets learned the hard way.

how do you like everything so far?

The JBL speakers are 2 ohm as Destin said. I measured their resistance to confirm a few years ago when I pulled them out.

Yeh, i found out just by doing ... trying a few different speakers and comparing the sound and sound level.. in the process of adding an amp just got the amppro today. I can't wait but my expectations are NOT very high though I did put in some nice drivers , still waiting on a couple small things ran speaker wire from the back to the front kick panels today also.. decisions decisions.any other tips? I put 2ohm cdt 6x9 mid/subs in the front door and cdt 2" wideband coaxials .was gonna rin them on their own channels but now I'm having some 2 way crossovers made to try and fit behind the kick panels to them run into the door and up on the dash so I can raise the ohm on the 6x9 a little and lower the Mid/tweeter a bit.. hopefully they will blend well as i like how they sound compared to the jbls much better imaging and crisper highs, they want power so I'm going to give it to them and I can't wait! I mm mmm still a little confused on the amppro I tried to decide it's permanent home earlier but I am not completely sure how to run the rear doors off the jbl amp but I may have 2 rear channels free I just have to run more wire to the back doors but that's not too bad I'm just tired of taking the door panels off and I will have to do it atleastc1 more time
