Good day all. I am looking at adding more electric capacity to my 2024 TRD off-road. I have yet to see a dual battery kit. I was contemplating doing something under the back seat as I do not use this for much anyway. Mainly looking for more battery capacity for winching and a 12v refrigerator. I figure if I keep the battery low it won't hurt. Attached is a picture of the batteries I am thinking of using. I know there are some very knowledgeable people on this forum and am looking for advice. Thank you in advance.Screenshot_20250105_104242_Chrome.jpg

I'm not the Einstein of this stuff, but I think you'll need a DC to DC battery charger.

Ahh. I am obviously not an expert either. Thank you for your insight. I am still thinking under the seat is a better option than the engine bay. I will keep looking. Thank you.

My thoughts are that the charging system is set up to charge lead-acid, not lithium. I lithium under the rear seat would be fine, I think.

There are quite a few threads on this subject in the earlier generation forums. Try searching titles for "house battery"

how hard you gonna be winching that you need 2 batteries? also how long you plan on running fridge with vehicle off? just overnight? 2-3-4 days? in my 3rd gen i ran fridge of OEM battery over night on multiple occasions with no problem at all. unless its like 100 degrees out and your gonna leave your truck off for a complete 48 hours i dont see need for 2 batteries.

A lithium house battery would be good for running small electronics, 12v accessories, your fridge, etc, but not for winching. You'd want to keep that connected to your starting battery under the hood so the vehicle's engine/alternator can keep charging/helping as you are running the winch. The lithium battery would need to be separated via a DC - DC charger (this changes the charge from your alternator/starting battery to what your lithium batteries need to properly and safely charge. So as mentioned above, House battery may be what you want to research. I still believe a nice powerstation is a much simpler solution, but that won't fit under your seat. I just like the ease of use with the inverter, charger, 12v ports, and such all built into an off the shelf package.
