Own a 2007 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab. I just purchased this truck a month ago as it looks right now and have some concerns about tires, fuel and suspension. I do 90% road driving with the odd dirt road / light off roading.

Currently running Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 285/75/R16. Truck has 2" level in the front 3" level in the back all stock suspension. My current set up the tires still rub the fenders at full crank or suspension compression. I also don't enjoy how horrible my fuel mileage is as I only get 400km (248mi) to a tank assuming because of these current tires and level kit. I was hoping at least to be in the 450-500km (279-310mi) range per tank. Additionally the braking is heavy and slow with these tires.

Money is tight and I'm on a budget. What is the most economical solution here for fuel economy and longevity of suspension components and brakes ?

    A) raise the front another inch and continue running these tires. pros and cons?
    B) Run 265/70/R16 and take the level out.
    C) Run 265/75/R16 and leave the level as is

Bonus question. Does it look like I have wheel spacers installed for how far these tires stick out currently. Sorry im not that knowledgeable about trucks.

Option B, and when you get tires look for standard load/C range instead of Load range E/10ply.
That will save a good bit of weight per tire and may help the mileage.
I would get rid of the spacers if possible, but depending on your rim offset that may not be possible.

    Just one opinion.

Nice truck and welcome to Tacoma World!

I’d measure your lift to see what you’re dealing with. Measure Center of hub up to fender, stock front is 20 inches rear 22 inches. Lift only helps with bigger tires if you never compress your suspension.
If you’re on a budget check out Facebook marketplace for barely used tires. SL load and C load will be fine for what you’re doing. Look for tires in the 40lb range, low 50. You can get 285s in SL load in the low 40lbs. In 265 you can find some lightweight tires no problem.
What part of the country are you living in?

I live in Southern Ontario in Canada kind of near Toronto. I think I will get smaller tires because these are just too big. Do you think it will look stupid with the lift and then reducing back to stock size tires I assume there will be a lot of space between the fender and tire, it might look stupid hence why I am leaning towards 265/75/r16 rather than 265/70/r16 that extra 5% of aspect ratio might help fill some space. I don't really have a choice though. I was honestly even thinking of reducing tire size save some more money a bit then take the levelling kit out completely.

lastly with how much these current wheels stick out from the body do you think I have spacers or offset wheels or is that just how big these tires are?
