    I'm building up a 2013 Sr 5 4x4 over time
This last year I upgraded the suspension, wheels, tires and sliders
The first upgrade this coming year will be brakes.
I will definitely be increasing the weight of the truck in the near future.

    Brake recommendations?

I believe stoptech made the kits for trd. URD has them at a decent price.

You could also search and find others made Frankenstein kits from other vehicles. I think you need an adapter plate though. Someone sells or used to sell them.

Something you don’t want to let happen is to have the master cylinder reservoir drain empty. Getting air in the abs has caused many headaches. They sell tiny plugs to shove in the brake pipe. Or, someone posted if you barely depress the pedal, that keeps it from happening.

Also note 5 and 6 lug trucks have different brakes.

Bed Mat and Go Pro. Toyota made it so good, doesn't need much mods. Don't like getting her dirty!!
I recently completed an upgrade of my OEM front brakes. I warped two sets of OEM rotors before making this upgrade. Haven’t had to do any hard stops while fully loaded with this setup yet, but the quality, smoothness, and stopping power is much better.

The Truck: Stock’er ‘17 SR5 V6 2wd. I use it for my daily commute and geology consulting. All the roads are paved in South Florida, no need for 4x4 in the years i have owned it so far. 115k miles, just broke in…IMG_5527.jpg

    The brakes (front):
Bembro high carbon performance rotors, paired with Akebono brake pads. Verdict, like butter! The best, superior to OEM.

I bought the brake pads and rotors from Tire Rack and the brake parts kit from Rock Auto.

So folks, if you’re looking to upgrade your stock setup and you’re running the standard tires and wheels, this is it! IMG_1563.png

I put together this same setup last year. I went ahead & rebuilt my calipers as well with a Toyota seal kit.

I just did the 5th Gen 4Runner upgrade recently. Bought calipers, rotors and pads from Rock auto for a great price. Been an improvement. Definitely would recommend the Stoptech if you do a lot of towing. For me personally, I moved away from the Stoptechs for ease of finding and the cost of off the shelf rotors/pads.

I did the T4R front conversion, and got stop tech rotors (drilled and slotted). Then got the SoS rear break conversion. T4R was a significant upgrade. No fade in the mountains and when it’s wet. The rear conversion was an another noticeable increase although a decent cost. The front calipers I got from the dealer at a decent discount.
