2nd Gen & 3rd Gen Roof Molding Interchangeable?

Quick question are the 2nd Gen & 3rd Gen Roof Molding Interchangeable?

 

Based on P/Ns the answer is no, they're not interchangeable, however, I'm not exactly sure what the differences are either. I'd assume they're just a little bit different in shape to accommodate the cab generation.

 

2nd Gen OEM roof rack works on 3rd Gen and vice versa.

Im almost positive 2nd gens are 1 per side and 3rd gens are 2 piece per side. There’s no way to check right now due to weather.

 

If you look up the part # to the OEM roof rack it will state that it will not fit a second gen
This is false as I bought it and installed it
So my answer is yes they are

 

The ends clip in no problem? I’m removing my OEM rack soon, PRINSU rack will be replacing it.

 

The front comes almost flush, maybe 1/8 inch from A-Pillar does not tuck.
Rear tucks in very nicely

 

Yes, for the moldings the 2nd Gens are 1 piece and 3rd Gens are 2 piece.

 

So the 3rd Gen drip moldings should fit without a problem then. Got a set locally for a decent price, figured they were interchangeable due to the fact of the OEM roof racks.

 

Did you ever find out if they fit?

 

They do fit, 100%.
