2023 Tacoma TRD 4x4, short bed, extended cab. I mine/rock hound in Idaho, Eastern Oregon and Northern Nevada--sometimes with full load of agates, jaspers, and petrified wood...sometimes with a pound or two of Oregon Sunstones. The terrain is high desert and higher mountains, and the 4 wheel drive feature gets used on almost every trip.
I'm currently stock except for a higher clearance rear bumper (ripped off a bumper guard in a narrow stream crossing) and replaced those darn kevlar Goodyears (3 sidewall tears later) with Falkens.
Also, ride quality is important, I sometimes drive 3-4 hrs to get there. My clearance has only been an issue a few times, but the rear does sag a bit with the bigger loads. I have been considering adding roadactive suspension, but I dont want any more rake than what I have now. Would taller shocks on the front level out the slight increase in the rear from the roadactive? I do like the adjustability feature-I could crank it up for a heavy trip, down for a lighter trip? Possibility just replace all 4 shocks? I'm concerned spacers in the front, or rear, would affect ride quality. Suggestions?

The nice thing about the RAS system is that you bolt it on with your shocks now, adjust it, and go from there. Cheaper and easier to install than a new leaf pack. Do it!

When you start to add more weight; sliders, armor, etc, and your stock suspension is not happy with you and you with it, you should get new dampers, leaf pack, and front coil springs.
