Wiring for topper: Mating a 2023 Tacoma with a Leer DCU with dual doors and back up camera off of a GMC canyon.

I left the tailgate harness on the tailgate. Thinking it’s easiest to steal that 8 point harness then buy an extension for the backup camera if possible to fit the existing 6V camera fitting pictured.

Then sever the harness at the other end and create a pigtail that will take the wires to the existing 6 plug set up in the topper for 3rd brake light and canopy lights.

any advice or wiring diagrams appreciated, thank you

So I wired up another backup camera to put on top of my Leer topper when I got a tire swingout that blocked the OEM cam. I used this: https://tailgatecamera.com/collecti...camera-relocation-kit-with-oem-wiring-harness which just plugs right into the existing harness and takes the place of the OEM cam.

If you ever want to reverse it just unplug the aux camera and plug the OEM back in, and you can order this with various length harnesses depending on how you plan to route the wires. I went up through the driver side tail light and then routed inside the topper. No cutting or splicing anything
