I don't think midsizes are going anywhere I don't think anybody will sell alot of them if the price goes to high. You can always build a garage to the size of your truck, I agree there will always be a market for a smaller than fullsize truck.

Full size trucks are for the self employed trades, ranchers and heavy equipment haulers. For the most part a good mid-size will fully serve the average person. IMO.

a 2024 Tacoma is about the size of a late 90s F150. Fullsize trucks are now plus size trucks.

A base GT is 45... a lot more than 12 but a lot more car too. I have nostolga for Fox bodies (prices are nuts) too but they're not great cars to drive and a new ecoboost would kill an old 5.0. Adjusting for inflation your 12K lines up pretty nicely with a new ecoboost car thats better in every way. Well except maybe for sound and having a v8.

    I get it & agree...
Wouldn't touch an eco boost knowing what I know, definitely wouldn't get any sleep at night with one in the driveway...
A fox body project sounds bad-ass to me, something for my teen son to drive to school, n/a stroker, lopey cam, etc..
But might be cool to just me & due to outrages costs of a platform / car, doesnt make financial sense...

For real... I didn't know how much larger the 4th gens were compared to my third gen 'til I saw one in a parking lot. 4th gens are noticeably larger than 3rd gens... and 3rd gens are the size of 1st gen tundras... trucks are comically huge now. 35s look almost factory size on most new full size trucks

Maybe 30+ years ago, but not in the last 20 years in TN, or probably anywhere in the south. The "standard" truck, err, man vehicle, here is a full-size king cab 4WD with a 5 ft bed. Never: anything in the bed other than a few bags of mulch, more than only the driver in it, towing anything, driving on anything more than a gravel road that a corvette could easily handle.... A Maverick is all that 95% need, but a full size is the "I'm a MAN" statement. Which is fine. But then STFU when gasoline prices spike every few years to $4+ a gallon. And of course, on day two you need a 6" lift, new giant wheels with low profile tires that stick out at least 3" from the vehicle, running boards so your fat wife could possibly get into it, and an aftermarket exhaust that's 50X louder than stock. "Look at me, I have a small penis":)
