2010 v6 Tacoma Battery Light

I've got a 2010 v6 Tacoma that's had the battery light come on and stay on. I replaced the alternator but it didn't work, I thought I maybe had a bad one so I've replaced it again under warranty. I already took the battery into Autozone for a test and it's testing fine and they charged it up.

I put on the multimeter and with the car idling I'm maybe getting 11amps even with the new alternator. This is the second alternator I've put into it, could there be other problems not surrounding the alt or battery?

 

Use the multimeter to measure voltage as opposed to amps. Measure the voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running and with it not running.

 

Check your ALT-S fuse (7.5A) first, if that's good then go to the alternator connector and see what your missing.

11 amps or do you mean 11 volts? Because neither of those 2 values are correct. Output is close to 80-90 amps and 12-14 volts on a standard good alternator
