I was presented with the option of purchasing the VSA Platinum 10 year 125k miles for $3100 when I bought the truck, looking on the 4runner forum https://www.4runners.com/threads/toyota-vehicle-service-agreement-vsa-worth-it.34248/ I saw that people were getting them for $1500 or so through other dealers. Does buying it through another dealer have a downside? I saw something about maybe having to pay a $100 deductible when the truck is being fixed under it, but I'd be okay with that probably
Assuming I can get it for $1800 worst case, is it worth it on the 4th gen Tacoma? I'm a competent mechanic (old car is a BMW) so I'm planning on tackling most of the maintenance myself since it won't be that complicated. All the modules and programming are what has me thinking about the VSA, then I could simply drop the car at any dealer and they'd take care of it.
    Thanks!

No brainer but make sure you document all your maintenance
