I have two late 40s early 50s vintage Schwinns taking up room in my shed. Both are complete, could use new tires but otherwise in good shape. Both have functional electric horns.

Anyone interested or know someone who might be?

Edit: Thanks to a super helpful link provided by @eurowner, I have identified the precise model years.

    The green is a 1953 (H307713)

    The blue is a 1950 (G094167)

How much are you asking for both? Where are you located?

Those are sweet but not my jam.

They're probably worth good money if you can find the right buyer. I've never seen any quite like that second one before.

I think it would be worthwhile to do some research on them. Anything WWII-era or earlier is likely to be rare and valuable, as lots of stuff got melted for scrap metal to support the war. I see you said "late 40s", how confident are you in that?

I’d be interested in the spindles and have my stock ones to trade if you’re going back to stock

Edit to say I’d also take the tundra rack and tie rods

This https://thecabe.com/category/serial-numbers/ and http://www.cardiffbikeshop.com/date...ial numbers before,1972 to the head tube.will tell you the birth date of the bike through the serial number placement.

The oldest are on the bottom bracket shell, the middle years are non-drive side rear dropout, and the newest are on the head tube.

Schwinn had a massive fire on August 18, 1948 at 1836 Kostner Ave in Chicago, Il. So pre 8-1948 serial numbers are a hard to pin down, https://www.angelfire.com/rant/allday101/SchwinnCodes1.html

Had this mounted for one towing experience on my Tundra and decided to go with a larger unit - it is a better unit than I used on my SC Taco which dropped temps at the Pan to sub 180 while towing and all other driving. In perfect, as-new condition. $160ish new - asking $60.00. No shipping. Golden/Arvada/Littleton area.
