I need help with my brakes!!!! I have been through 4 or 5 sets of rotors over the last few years..Started with replacing rotors...then pads...then calipers one at a time...6 months ago put the Adaptive One rotors on new (supposedly the upgraded nicer ones from Napa)....warping with 2 months....so we decided to replace everything again two months ago....
Put brand new pads, brand new Adaptive One rotors, brand new adaptive one calipers, and replaced the rubber brake lines going to calipers...AND we drained all brake fluid and blew the lines out and replaced......2 months later steering wheel shaking when braking!!! And NO, I dont ride the brakes...I drive like an 80 year old and dont brake hard....90 percent of the driving is a 1 hour commute where I hardly hit the brakes on the whole trip....not pulling anything....
What else is left to do!!??? Mechanic mentioned that we may have to replace the entire ABS module, that it could be defective and causing slight pressure and slight heating over time??

Honestly I don't trust Napa any more.

I've had Adaptive One pads a rotors on my 4Runner and Tundra and both started pulsing while braking within couple thousand miles. Even after bedding them when changing. I've been going with Bosch since I can Amazon them and its been better.

Are the calipers pushing out the pads evenly?

If you replaced your bearings it could be the hubs that are out of spec; meaning they have run out and your rotors follow them. So the rotors will run true for a short time and then they will wear unevenly causing a vibration. It can also be worn bearing causing the same thing.

Did you properly Bed The Brakes?

From what you describe it isn't warped rotors. What you are getting is an uneven layer of brake material on the rotors that causes a pulsing feeling of the brake pedal and grabbing as you described. It seems you have wasted a bunch of money on brakes IMO.

You can bed in properly the brakes you already have installed and save yourself some money and time.

How long did the original OE pads and rotors last?

theres a thread. It documents the problem. It has a solution. It has many pages. It has been around a while. It is the first thing that comes up when you search. Try that.

I did my brakes Last July at 122,000 miles and used Advics rotors and Akabono pads. At 133,000 miles I can still see the machining marks on the rotors. All I did was use brake cleaner on the rotors and easy braking the first few applications. The plastic bags the rotors came in had a sticker on it that said, Certified High Carbon. I ordered from Rockauto.

I've never had luck with aftermarket rotors. The price is nice, but they don't last as long and prematurely wear out or warp and cause vibrations. You end up spending more time and money changing them in and out. Spend a little extra on oem rotors for a better product. Less headache in my opinion.

I second this - at least measure the run out with dial calipers to rule this out. This is a standard item to check on cars with brake vibration issues.

I had my front brakes and rotors replaced by a local reputable shop about 1,000 miles ago but am now noticing some vibration when braking. The shop owner did not say anything about bedding. I drove off as I have after every other brake job. Can the bedding procedure be performed at this point?

You can bed them at any time. I do mine about once per year and mine always work great. Of course, I have the TRD Off Road so my brakes are pretty decent to begin with.
