AuxBeam Install

Just purchased an 8 gang AuxBeam switch panel with the two sided outlet, 47" extension cable, and an R4T 5 switch panel for my 2020 Taco.

Anyone have any tips for installing the AuxBeam 8 gang panel?
Should I be putting the two sided outlet under the hood? Under the dash?

Any advice or tips from someone who has installed one would be greatly appreciated!

I installed mine under the hood on a power tray.They dont make the power tray for auxbeam two sided but they have a blank power tray you can modify.Ran the fuse tap into the cab.

I sort of assumed it was meant to be installed under the hood, as the room under the dash is minimal.
It doesn't sound like too difficult of an install, but I want to make sure I can have it dimmable as well.

What brand power tray did you go with?

 

I made my own bracket when I installed mine. This thread has a lot of useful info in it that might help you as well.
For the wiring I ran through one of the grommets in the firewall and used a fuse tap in the cab for the on/off power.

That thread definitely has some useful info in it. I've also been thinking of bending up my own platform, and the space between the battery and the brake fluid seems perfect. Also seems like it would be the closest to where the connection would come from the 8-gang panel in the cab as well.

I used the provided panel to mount the relay box + used a supplied metal piece to mount the control box to the main mount, if that makes any sense.

I ran the red fuse-tap wire into the cab, to avoid drilling a hole in the fuse box cover in the engine compartment to avoid any dust/water entering the fuse box.

No, I haven't installed it yet. I was waiting for my SSO bumper to show up, as it had a 20" light bar in it, and I wanted to get that installed in the bumper and purchase a winch before I put it in.
I'll give you a holler if I run into issues, as I was also thinking about purchasing a power tray before install as well.

 

Was the provided fuse tap wire long enough to make it to the fuse box in the cab? What ACC fuse did you go with?

 

More than enough wire coming from control panel.The fuse panel in the cab are mini fuses,tapped in to the emergency flashers,20A.
