Got my brush forks in today. Momma is out of town until Sunday so brought tractor into garage to thaw out. Amazon brush forks but seem pretty damn stout.

biggest complaint I saw in reviews was no instructions? Really? Slip over bucket and clamp down only comes with these few parts.

To me, thread I. Eye bolts, put jam nuts on them, clamp down on bucket, tighten jamb nuts

should be a pretty good fit on a 48” bucket. I can use this for clearing brush and moving stuff around. I can’t justify the expense of a grapple

Take those clamp on brush forks and throw em in that dumpster in the gif. One thing that can hairlip or taco your bucket is a set of clamp on forks. Not good. Hate all you want but I’m just trying to tell the truth. Send those back and by some pallet forks or manure forks if you value you loader bucket.

Good to know. This is just for light stuff, for that matter the whole tractor is too small to do much of anything heavy. I do plan on adding a bolt on cutting edge to reinforce the cutting edge. Regular pallet forks aren’t really an option, as far as I can tell with the pin on bucket

Understood. Look up BxPanded and Heavy Hitch for tooth bars and cutting edges. Be careful with those forks and no prying.

I don’t have any prying in mind. I have several brush/ stick piles in the woods from years of just throwing them out of the yard and from cutting up trees. I figured these will be easier to lift them up and move them to burn them and maybe hold rounds while I’m splitting wood so I don’t have to keep bending over. I was going to look at a cutting edge for factory replacement and just figure out how to drill all the holez

I have two cutting edges for my BX23S. A straight bar and pirahna tooth bar. This is my first ever tractor or experience using one, so I didn't know and just started modding it just like the Taco. This modding thing is an addiction! Anyway, I use the straight bar about 95% of the time and it's great to have that little bit of extra protection and depth.
Seriously, if you want to try the Pirahna bar I will drop it off to you for free. Before you spend any money or make any investment....I'd be happy to just give this to you and if you like it, you keep it. You're not that far from me, so why not keep it in the family!

Side note, if there is anything I would invest in....it would be a third function kit. I can't tell you how convenient it is to have a "functioning thumb" to pick up all sorts of things because eventually a grapple might come up for sale near you!

I sincerely appreciate that. I’m going to figure out what I’m going to do I was just thinking a strait factory bolt on edge to beef up the weld on one and take wear off it but I will see. They didn’t make one for a bx1870 so I’ll have to adapt one for an 1880

I want to say that Bxpanded bolt on bars are all identical for the FEL, which is why I ended up with two of their styles (and I like their products). Give this one a try since it will at least give your bucket that extra protection for now. I don't want anything in return. Just a little more extra space in my shed? lol

The Piranha is a serrated cutting edge kinda like a steak knife if you will. I know lots of guys who really love theres and leave them on year round.

I built my own brush forks back in 19’

What size is that rebar? Looks large, like 1 1/4" or bigger.

Yep idk if will work with brush forks or cv edge tamers but pretty simple to pop off when you want to use them.

YEP BX expanded is a solid outfit. I actually do run that Piranha bar & do leave it on year round.

The ONLY time it comes off is if I'm gonna do a bunch of back dragging with the FEL or like this week where you had to have the flat edge for the snow/ice instead of the blade.

Back on mole patrol last night
upload_2025-1-11_10-5-23.jpgI was able to successfully run it at half choke and get some tasty black bong hits in the burrows. Suck it moles! This is so far a very effective method on moles with lots to f down time in n between new hill pop ups. With some perseverance maybe I can get my yard back in shape and not let them destroy it

We got 4”, I did scrape the driveway this time. Only 33° today so not much meltage happening. Tomorrow is 38° for the high so hopefully the driveway will clear a lot.

Alamost on Lake Ontario shore. Can still see lawn through 1/2 inch of white. Unusual.
