I recently noticed that my headlights shut off when I turn the engine off? I don't know if this is normal or if it's because my truck was originally titled in Canada?

This not with the auto selection, this is with the lights turned full on.

    Thoughts?

Pretty sure it's normal I changed the settings so my lights stay on for 15 seconds after I turn it off.

I don't know how different the Canadian sourced trucks are but you might want to check the vehicle settings in the head unit to see if you can change the timer on the lights.

You'll never accidentally leave your lights on and come out to a dead battery.
I fail to see the issue.

I don't have a problem with it, I just asked if it was normal?

    Thanks!

I will spend some time looking into this. I guess I still have the question though whether the timing setting applies when the lights are left in the "on" position? I have never seen a vehicle that turns the lights off when the switch is in the "on" position?

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
I bought an 07 access cab taco brand new that didn't have any auto light features and I left the headlights in the ON position 100% of the time. It did the same thing. BUT, if you leave the headlights in the ON position, shut the truck off, then turn the headlights OFF then back ON they will come on and stay on. They might eventually turn off to prevent the battery from draining, but I never left them on to test that theory...

All that to say, I believe his is a perfectly normal function and is a perk of the modern electronics, even if you don't have or don't care for leaving them in the "auto" position.
